Composite materials characterization for containers development to store liquids and pressure gas

       project

The COMPRESSer project is cofinanced by the  Sudoe Interreg Program through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Furthermore, this project will develop  new pressure vessels manufactured  with composite materials (MC) providing an innovative solution regarding the most advanced technologies of the market.

                         Development Techniques

Finite element method (FEM)

Accurate numerical models of composite material pressure vessels  that allow to simulate their mechanical behaviour.

Photogrammetry

Non-contact technique that allow to obtain reliable and accurate results of the produced stresses and displacements in composite materials pressure vessels , replacing the use of strain gauges.

Testing materials

Composite materials subjected to tensile and compression forces in order to study their mechanical properties, allowing to chose the most adequate composite material in order to manufacture vessels capable of withstanding these efforts.

       To achieve our goal

The main goal of the COMPRESSer project is to manufacture composite material pressure vessels , offering higher benefits of use and healthiness as well as similar costs as the current pressure vessels, allowing their useful in several sectors as the health sector, the automotive industry or the food industry, among others. The final product will be an innovative solution within the industrial activity and will be developed in Spain, Portugal and France.
